History

Gulfco was founded in 1919 as a machine shop and manufacturer of oil field and marine products. The company expanded into forging with the purchase of Beaumont Forge in 1955. Over subsequent decades, the company developed significant expertise in the art of open die and rolled ring forging. This institutional forging knowledge created an unmatched reputation for providing high quality forgings to meet each customer’s precise specifications. As a result of an unwavering dedication to quality and customer service, Gulfco built a loyal client base throughout the company’s numerous end markets.

In 2007, Gulfco initiated a transformational strategy to support growth. Since 2007, Gulfco has made significant investments to expand capacity and upgrade equipment. The company invested more than $7.5 million in 2007 and 2008, including the addition of a 3,500 ton press, the installation of two energy efficient forging furnaces and large manipulators, and the refurbishment of the 2,000 ton press. The installation of the 3,500 ton press and related forging furnaces in July 2008, significantly improved the company’s manufacturing flexibility and efficiency for forgings that were historically produced on Gulfco’s 2,000 ton press. During 2014 and 2015 Gulfco completed a multi-million dollar refurbishment of all major equipment. As a result, Gulfco’s Beaumont, Texas facility has been completely modernized and is in excellent condition. Today Gulfco is able to efficiently supply forged products up to 50,000 lbs. with dimensions up to 4' in length and 13' in diameter.
